Smardt manufactures its innovative and highly efficient range of chillers in Montreal Canada, Plattsburgh USA, Melbourne Australia, Stuttgart Germany, and Guangzhou China. Smardt was the first manufacturer to commercially produce high-efficiency oil-free chillers utilising magnetic bearing centrifugal compressors and today has the largest range of such chillers.
We worked with Smardt to design, renovate and furnish their 2nd floor office in a very budget conscious manner.
Smardt needed to renovate the second floor of their Montreal headquarters to better support their growing team.
Vision & Strategy
Aquest Design was engaged to deliver a turnkey solution—from initial planning through to final furnishing. The goal was to create a functional, modern workspace that aligned with Smardt’s brand and operational needs, all within a clearly defined budget and timeline.
Design Concept
Aquest developed a clean, open design concept that prioritized natural light, collaboration, and flexibility. The layout was carefully planned to balance private offices, meeting spaces, and open work areas, while finishes and furnishings were selected for both durability and comfort. Every detail—from space planning to material choices—was shaped around Smardt’s culture and workflow.
